Trasimeno
Blues together with Umbria Jazz and Narni
Black Festival have created a relevant centre of Black music in Umbria
region that is now representing the crossroads of jazz, blues, soul, gospel
and r&b: the roots of black music but also the roots of the most
popular music in the world. The start of Black music is in the begining of the
XX century across the black American communities but we all can see its
evolution through the pop and rock music as a common heritage of the world. The
aim of Umbria Black Music partnership is to explore, research and improve the
black music as the throbbing heart of our life’s soundtrack. The three
festivals share a big passion for the black music and some other characteristics.
The first one is that everyone of those festival is very important for the
territory and is based on the will to increase the value ofthe local beauty and to hand in glove the
music with the Umbrian landscape and identity. The power of this idea is in its
contradiction: the neurotic contemporary music upsets the quite reality of
natural beauty and ancient historical towns. The sound of the new world is
assumed by the ancient world. The modern impulses meets the quiet of the
traditions.
